Everyone taking the ACT should be prepared even if it is the smallest thing. Reading and using ACT student website (www.actstudent.org) for preparation can help a lot when it comes to taking ACT. Try timing yourself when you take this prep test. The hardest subject areas were the reading and science. The thing with the reading is that it is long reading and hard question with barely any time, so basically timing is what lets you read in a understanding pace in order to answer this questions correctly.
Now science is basically graphs comprehending, one page with graphs and the other page filled with questions for 4 passages. Remember take calculator, eraser, jacket and a watch (not all classes have clocks). In addition bring your admission ticket with an Id so the proctor can recognize you. Finally, don't be late, or your proctor will dismiss you out again.
Timing in the ACT is the most important thin. Without time, the test can get very hard, and before you know it "times up." In reading for example, you have 40 minutes for 45 minutes questions plus you have to read the passage. Remember to take your practice test and time yourself.
Good Luck,
